Gemini SUPER Full Moon and Uranus stations Direct: stretch your mind
Happy Full Moon in Gemini!
This isn’t just another Full Moon, this is a SUPER Full Moon.
SUPER Full Moons occur when the Moon is closest in orbit to the Earth (perigee). This makes the Moon appear larger than a normal Full Moon. Tides are higher at all New and Full Moon, but at a SUPER Full Moon, high tides are stepped up. Effects can include stronger tides, more intense weather, earthquakes, tidal waves, and other meterological and geophysical disturbances. A Super Full Moon also draws our personal emotions to the surface. Instead of being hidden, events can occur that bring your feelings out in the open.
The Sun entered Sagittarius on Thanksgiving Day. As the Sun moves from Scorpio to Sagittarius and the greenery shrinks back into the Earth, you realize how often you hide in your “shadow” self. And this awareness helps you to see the shadow for whatever it is. And then you can let it go. And as you release the hidden fear that has become a burden, you can start to feel lighter, more lively and happy as the Sun enters Sagittarius.
When the Sun and Moon oppose in early Sagittarius-Gemini [Sun at 1 Sagittarius 55; Moon at 1 Gemini 55] they are squared by the Lunar Nodes [North Node is at 2 Pisces 27; the South Node is at 2 Virgo 27].
The Lunar Nodes are points, not actual planets. As such, some astrologers include them in aspect patterns, and some do not. Yet, the Lunar Nodes square the Sun-Moon opposition, creating a MUTABLE Grand Square..
This can be a time of accelerated learning– or it can become information overload. You can find workshops, seminars, teleseminars, webinars, eclasses, webclasses, blogs, newsgroups, and mentorships where you can learn more about anything. And with so many choices and information, you can learn for entertainment or you can make a commitment and set clear goals.
If you have clear goals, you can find information that can expand your range of knowledge and professional skills. The next step in your education — whether it’s a book, class, teacher, or degree — can become apparent around the Gemini Super Full Moon. “When the pupil is ready the teacher will appear” is an image for this Full Moon. Or, if your criteria is that information must be fre*e, you can access more information than you can read, most of it giving you a piece of the puzzle while advertising a product that will actually give you the answers you hoped to find.
In the last newsletter i said “if there is no way to vent emotions, they can come unglued at the wrong time, and with tidal-wave force.” At the Super Full Moon, not only Mars but the Moon is out-of-bounds (OOB) by declination, and at perigee (closest to the Earth), and square the Lunar Nodes. There can be an aggressive edge to emotions that is out of normal bounds. And unless you can catch an impulse before it becomes an action, you can act in ways that are out of character or beyond the bound of “normal”.
This is about learning to speak your mind in a way that CONNECTS positively to others. What DO you think? What IS your opinion? What ARE your goals? Write them down. Speak to someone who can really help you get clear and grounded, not just someone who will agree and circulate your story as more gossip.
The ruler of the Gemini Full Moon is Mercury. And Mercury is in Scorpio– whatever is lurking below the surface is what is interfering in your ability to communicate, or truly CONNECT. Are you connecting with the real you, or with a pretend you— and wondering why you’re not really connecting? This can be subtle and subconscious. And there’s NO BLAME! If you are secretly angry, resentful, panicked, hurt, anxious, scared, it’s a sign that you need to communicate your feelings if you want them to change. OR– they can fester and limit your progress, do you harm. Not only today or next week, but slowly, over time.
The ruler of the Gemini Full Moon, Mercury, is part of a (separating) WATER Grand Trine that includes Mercury-Mars-Uranus. And this astrological pattern can make us feel like we “should” be in a hurry, that we don’t have time to stop, reflect, meditate, think. We can have or create additional busywork and get obsessed in the details. We have a hard time just being still enough to know the next step. We can’t tolerate temporary indecision or confusion, so we can’t be open to our possibilities. When you’re busy all the time, you don’t have to listen to your intuition before you JUMP into the next project that is not really YOUR path.
At this Super Full Moon squares the Nodes, we have yet another Mutable Grand Square. What patterns do you repeat, over and over, because you think it’s your role, job, archetype. We don’t only get stuck in roles, we get stuck thinking we “should” do something other than what we feel is our path. The strong MUTABLE influence of the Full Moon chart shows that moving forward is not necessarily a straight path. We may need to make adjustments and be flexible if and when situations change. Yet, this can feel ungrounded, which can make you feel unstable and anxious.
The light of this Super Full Moon can show us what happens when our emotions are dependent on the moods and thoughts of others. It’s like having an immune-system leak in your emotional body; you never feel fully energized and happy. Focusing YOUR attention on watching for any changes in others doesn’t give you peace-of-mind to focus on much for long, so you fly from this to that, unable to concentrate or stick with anything. After all, you have to keep an eye on THEM so you can stay a step ahead. But in keeping your eye on THEM, you aren’t making a commitment to yourself, so it’s hard to find the right commitment to make, or the time to make it and keep it going. And it’s really because you don’t want to take your focus off the action.
Instead of feeling supported by your friends and family, your need to anticipate their every need, emotion, craving, or mood can leave you feeling exhausted, alienated, and unsupported. Yet, it was your “choice” (or early training) to anticipate any fluctuations in the moods of those around you. And that takes constant monitoring, or attention.
To have healthy relationships– with yourself and others— you need to more than talk, you need to LISTEN. If you are not getting honest guidance or feedback, perhaps you are so busy anticipating, you are not willing to listen.
The point in SEEING your imbalances is NOT to guilt-trip yourself or feel bad or alienated or wrong. The point is to USE the information being revealed so you know what you DO and DO NOT want. Pick and choose– and then commit.
There are some spots around the world where the Full Moon effects are likely to be stronger. SUPER Full Moon effects can be from 3 days before to 3 days after the Full Moon is exact. In the US, the east coast may experience a Nor-easter, or some extreme weather coming up the coast. Las Vegas sits in a very hot spot, as does Rio de Janiero and Tokyo.
And because nothing is ever perfect or complete, there’s more (almost) daily on the ArtCharts AstroBlog
