Kick start your week: Sun sextiles Uranus and trines Jupiter

This is the week to get things in motion. Yes, Jupiter is Retrograde, but Monday morning the Sun is trine Jupiter and sextile Uranus. So this week kicks off the upcoming Jupiter-Uranus sextile (exact on May 21), with a blast!

The good feelings you have now may start to seem like an illusion as the Sun squares Neptune Wednesday morning. However, your intuition is giving you a real glimpse into what is possible, a sudden AHA!

Even if you start to question and doubt what your higher awareness is trying to bring to your attention, you already have the message and possess the awareness. Refining it may need more work, but new ideas are already in circulation– all you have to do is plug into the current. This is social networking used to the highest benefit of the planet and the new consciousness that is rising. This is just the closing bell to get on board with new social technology and ideology.

And the positive aspects to the Sun on Monday show us how each of us, how, as individuals, can contribute our unique talents, interests, and ingenious ideas to the groupmind. This is a time when our world understanding is going through a major shift. It’s not a painful shift, but it is obvious. At the Full Moon on May 19, the Jupiter-Uranus sextile will be quickly approaching (exact on May 21), along with a Mercury Retrograde station (starting May 26). The new awareness can open and change minds. Quickly.

With Jupiter Retrograde and Mercury entering the retrograde shadow (May 11), there can be some backsliding over the next few weeks, and also more minds getting more information and making changes. We are receiving the awareness that we need to be more open to change on a social, ideological, religious level, and while many of us are excited by the opportunity, many of us are afraid of what the future may bring and are holding on to the past by using social issues to make political decisions. Will our fears and prejudices guide our thoughts and decisions? Or are we ready to break through to a more positive perspective, to take a leap of faith that together, with a serious commitment, we can create real change.

When you choose to see life in a positive perspective, anything starts to be possible. Things are exciting. Yet, instead of tensing up, you can relax and think calmly. And from a calm state of mind you can think of better solutions to real problems. This is not the time to keep your great ideas and solutions to yourself. Share, publish, video, network, publicize, and proudly promote your evolutionary ideas, online and offline.

Happy Mother’s Day + First Quarter Moon

astrology chart for first quarter moon may 11, 2008

On Mother’s Day, the Moon, which represents MOTHER in astrology, is in Leo and prominent in the chart.

There is a First Quarter Moon, which occurs when the Sun and Moon are square, or 90 degrees apart. At the time of the Quarter Moon, the Moon is at 21 Leo 48, the Sun at 21 Taurus 48. This is a Taurus-Leo First Quarter Moon.

And that’s not all that’s at 21 degrees of the signs.

Uranus is at 21 Pisces 50 and Jupiter is at 22 Capricorn 21 and moving Retrograde, towards 21 degrees.

So at the First Quarter Moon, the Sun squares the Moon AND the Moon is at the focal point of a yod, quincunx Jupiter and Uranus, which are approaching a sextile (exact on May 21).

How much is too much? During a Taurus-Leo Quarter Moon, nothing is too much. Lovely things can make you feel proud and adored. Yet, in the current economic climate, your practical side may be at odds with your love of luxury, which can feel the need to be indulged a bit, at least today, on Mother’s Day! Yet, breaking your budget on bling is a choice that can effect your bank account and your self-esteem.

While you may be busy and social, there can be a part of you that feels sensitive and judged unfairly. And since you may not be willing to share how you feel readily, it can also be harder for you to know how you feel as you keep your feelings strictly private.

And since this Moon is in Leo, a fixed sign, you may be too proud to share and explore your feelings, which can take the fire out of relating and make you feel smothered instead of mothered (or you can smother instead of mother).

Today can bring up what makes it hard for you to show and share your love, whatever makes it hard for you to feel close to others. And while this can seem harsh on Mother’s Day, it can also serve to unblock whatever is preventing you from feeling nurtured by social interactions, and sometimes by the ones you love.

Past limitations can be seen through as what you needed in another time of your life to feel safe and secure, and from that perspective, you can let them go. A barrier that you may have previously assumed would last lifetimes, can change in a heartbeat or less. A stronger YOU can do wonders to help others who could use your guidance and care.

At the bass of today’s Yod to the Moon is the approaching Jupiter-Uranus sextile (this is the 2nd pass, the first was on March 28, this one is May 21, the last is November 13). This is a time of growing conscious awareness that is taking place on a global level, and will get a big boost of energy in November. Our associations with large groups can help the cause. As you lend your talents to help the group, you also receive opportunities and blessings in the form of lucky breaks, great press, and expanded intuition.

So send out that press release! Mercury may be stationing Rx and Jupiter is already Rx, yet Jupiter and Uranus are sextile and it’s a good time to add your insights into the mix.

Jupiter Retrograde and Saturn Direct: hurry up and wait

[Saturn stations Direct on May 2, 2008]
[Jupiter stations Retrograde on May 9, 2008]

The 2 planets that symbolize society– beyond our immediate family or neighborhood –are Jupiter and Saturn. They occupy the part of the solar system that is still visible, yet beyond the Earth. They are beyond the asteroid belt and before the outer planets Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto that represent our collective consciousness in astrology.

Together, Jupiter and Saturn represent society, the culture we all live in. Jupiter represents our enthusiasm for expansion, while Saturn represents constriction and discipline. Their interaction shows the influences we experience as a society.

Both planets have a central role in our lives. Jupiter helps us expand and grow, while Saturn says just how much and how fast.

Both planets are stationing (changing direction) in one week. Saturn made its Direct station on May 2. As Jupiter stations Retrograde (May 9), first there’s a rush of excitement (as Jupiter trines the Sun), then there’s a curb of enthusiasm. This can feel like the “fall to Earth.” Our expansion drives may have gone too far, for now, and Saturn Direct can help us align with whatever needs to be done so we can do it, step by step, even if that seems slow and boring to our higher self.

As a society, our direction can seem unclear. Looking back at all US Elections since 1840, the Democrats are represented by Saturn; the Republicans by Jupiter. How will this planetary seesaw effect the political landscape of the next 4 1/2 months?

Saturn stationing Direct doesn’t mean the Democrats will decide their nominee immediately. It will happen slowly and it will be something many people will be watching very closely. As Saturn starts moving forward, it barely moves for the first month, staying at the same degree Virgo until May 23.

Jupiter Retrograde can find people wishing for a return of the “good ol’ days”, ya’ know, back when you could afford gas and housing. Meanwhile, the political situation seems to be going nowhere fast as these two planetary giants switch motion within a week of each other. And Mercury isn’t far from a Retrograde station (and enters its Retrograde shadow zone on May 11), so decisions are overloaded with details and information.

If you have a prominent Saturn or Jupiter or if these Retrogrades are contacting something in your chart, you may feel that you are focusing in one direction and losing ground in another. You may feel like you’re in the middle of a career dance as you slowly shift gears.

Saturn is moving direct (forward) in Virgo. If you want your career to move ahead, even at a time when your enthusiasm seems inflated and dreams seem like more trouble than they’re worth, you can still succeed. But you may need to make some adjustments. Reading the fine print is important and can’t be skipped over lightly now. There is important detailed information that can work to help you, but you have to pay attention to hear it and concentrate to digest it.

This is a good time to get back in touch with your values and priorities. They are not the same for all of us, and they change over time. So what are your current priorities? You can save yourself considerable time and stress if you define and act on your top priorities. Then you can take advantage of opportunities that further your goals, while letting go of what does not further your current needs. This doesn’t mean forgetting all else. You can plan for a lesser priority by taking care of more important business first.

This direction switch can help, if you are willing to slow down and think about why you like the smell of roses, what are the active ingredients that make roses smell so good, and the health benefits of roses.

This is the day! Mars opposes Jupiter

This is the day! Mars is opposing Jupiter today, Thursday.

This means you can speak before you think. And escalate a bad situation into a hostile situation. And that can be damaging. Or, it can just mean you miss out, get cut off, discounted.

Why? Ego. You may enjoy learning from a wise teacher. Yet, your ego may want to remind you that you’re still better and may even know more. This is a message. Instead of getting angry at the person who seems so advanced, this is a sign that you can do something similar, that your path may be similar. Being angry and defensive won’t get you there, but it can be frustrating.

And since this is a Mars-Jupiter opposition, you can turn on someone who has been very generous, or whose philosophy you don’t like. You can also feel double-crossed by someone you gave to generously.

HOW you speak to others can determine the reaction you receive. If you are angry, you can connect with the anger-body of another person who is also angry. And if there’s a conflict, you can go at it, exhausting and hurting yourselves. And this week, that can backfire in a way that can be hurtful, or even dangerous if you don’t check yourself.

Since this opposition squares Venus, it’s easier to go off on women, or anyone who cares or tries to be diplomatic and cooperative. It’s also tough to make money. You can either undersell or overbid. Charge too little or too much.

Be cool and have yourself a fabulous day!

Jupiter sextiles Uranus AND Venus AND Vesta: March 28, 2008

Outer planet aspects usually bring some kind of large-scale change, and this can be especially exciting when they involve expansive Jupiter and changeable Uranus. And since Venus, Vesta and Uranus are conjunct, this also means Venus (and Vesta and Uranus) sextile Jupiter. This can be an ideal time to step out and try something new. To achieve your goals and remain centered despite whatever happens around you, approach life from a new perspective. This is the time to think positively and get things done without thinking about why not. You can worry again starting Sunday when Sun and Mars are exactly square and will be through the approaching New Moon in Aries on April 5. That’s a lot of impatient energy and that’s significant “because Mars rules Aries, which is where the Sun is now. Why so impatient? Because everyone is telling you to hurry up and get it done yesterday. Of course that is going to make you feel more anxious!

While the Sun and Mars are square, the Sun is also semisquare Neptune. So the anger or irritation you feel can be an illusion. The old adage that it’s never about what gets you angry is especially true this weekend. If you are disappointed or dissatisfied, check out the reality of your expectations before you blow off steam on someone undeserving. Things may not be what they seem! The resistance you encounter is not coming from “them”, it’s coming from you (Sun aspects Mars and Neptune). We continue to blame others until we give ourselves permission to go beyond our resistance and make actual changes.

This is Jupiter sextiles Uranus from the StarLight Solutions Forecast:
Mar 28, 2008 (Mar 17, 2008 to Apr 2, 200 8) Jupiter Sextile Uranus

“You are open and eager to have new experiences, ideas, and people in your life, and thus draw them to you. A series of unusual events or coincidences may bring unexpected good fortune. Unbidden changes work out in your favor and allow you more freedom and room to move - like being “bumped up” from coach to first class.

This is an exciting and stimulating time, an excellent period to begin a new venture or attempt something unprecedented.

Working with groups or collectives can be a very positive experience now, especially if you feel that your freedom, individuality, and room to move is encouraged. Other people stimulate you to new ways of thinking and being, and you do the same for them.

Positive Potentials:

Increased optimism, confidence, and willingness to try a radically different approach. Cross-cultural experiences that expand your understanding. Unexpected positive developments socially and professionally.

Negative Potentials:

Very few, or none.

Remedies and Suggestions:

Begin asking for what you want, put out clear intentions and goals, and you’ll attract positive responses. Carpe diem!”

And this is Jupiter sextiles Uranus from the Advanced Astrology Forecast:
Mar 28, 2008 (Mar 17, 2008 to Apr 2, 200 8) Jup Sxtil Ura

“Your life is very upbeat and progressive now. You enjoy jovial, spirited get-togethers and parties, and you feel optimistic and enthusiastic. Associates, co-workers, and other businesses that you conduct business with are now ready and willing to talk to you about making progressive changes. Contracts or agreements signed at this time tend to be fortunate, although they do lead to progressive changes that make people who want to hold onto the status quo unhappy.

You become very interested in progressive options in all phases of life, and you take an active interest in new ideas and inventions. You may also participate in social change which, perhaps surprisingly to you, is met with little resistance and considerable interest from the public.”

[ArtCharts] Inspired Astrology Newsletter: New Moon edition: feel better NOW!

_______________

New Moon: Sunday, December 9 @ 12:40 pm est
The Sun and Moon are conjunct in Sagittarius [17 Sagittarius 16]

Feel better now!

The New Moon in Sagittarius occurs every year when the Sun and Moon conjunct in Sagittarius. This is the yearly time of renewed optimism and spiritual seeking. Jupiter rules Sagittarius. And with ruler Jupiter conjunct Pluto, it’s time for a soul journey that lifts your spirit with penetrating depth. It’s time to be inspired by what is most profound; to purify and regenerate.

This isn’t just another New Moon. The ruler Jupiter conjunct Pluto tells us this is a major shift in perspective and understanding. This is a time to see the world from the perspective of your higher self. Instead of finding little things to criticize (which lowers your vibration), elevate the mood. Give your spirit the space it needs to soar. Let yourself feel forgiveness, appreciation, and gratitude, and let those feelings extend to generosity; allow everyone to achieve and feel their best. As Jupiter and Pluto conjunct at the New Moon, you can do it!

In Sagittarius, you naturally find the best in everything and everyone. Profound spiritual progress can be made using humor. It’s not as silly as it sounds. Recent research has shown that laughter actually makes chemical changes in our bodies, starting with our energetic body. Laughter is a signal to our immune system that all is well. And our bodies respond INSTANTLY. What if it’s not so much what you’re doing but how you FEEL? What if it’s not about judging but about feeling better? Gathering with friends and family, traveling, reading, and education can help to elevate your spirit.

Going to parties and gatherings can make you feel good, and that’s the point. To feel better. And not just for a few minutes or hours. Sharing good cheer and inspiration can change your mood and improve your health, as well as help you to attract abundance. Abundance doesn’t have to be in the form of money. It can be. But abundance can be whatever YOU feel is abundance. And the best part about having abundance– it gives you more to share. And that creates more abundance. This New Moon can be the start of a new cycle of abundance. And all you need to start it is to feel good. That doesn’t mean you have to be perfect, or giddy. Just find the next thought that makes you feel better instead of worse. And then the next, and on it goes. If you start to feel discouraged, think of anything or anyone that makes you happy. Let your body feel that happiness and watch how much better you start to feel.

This Sagittarius New Moon can uncover a revelation that can give you a powerful AHA! moment that can change your life. Maybe not today. But in the future and for many years to come.

The role of Saturn-Uranus
As the Sun and Moon conjunct, forming the New Moon, they are at the focal point of a T-Square that includes Saturn and Uranus. This means they square Uranus in one direction and Saturn in the other (see the latest blog post: Mercury-Saturn-Uranus: doing the SQUARE dance). And Mercury, approaching a conjunction to the Sun (Monday, December 17), is also part of the T-Square. Besides making the weather an issue that can effect travel this holiday season, the T-square can also stimulate your personal interest in whatever subjects you enjoy and make you more of an independent thinker. But how do you communicate your original or unusual ideas? Do you feel defensive and become rebellious when others aren’t up to speed? Do you trip over your racing thoughts, act too impulsively, and scatter your energy?

The Sun/Moon is also the midpoint of Saturn/Uranus (moving from Saturn to Uranus): how do you balance idealism with realism? Although you may be excited about future possibilities, not everyone will be in agreement and there could be controversy about new or revolutionary ideas, and some thinking can seem extremist. Conflict can be distracting and nerve-wracking enough to make you feel on edge. The opposition of Saturn and Uranus will be a defining theme of 2008.

On November 4, 2008 (at 8:21 am est), Election Day in the USA, Saturn and Uranus will exactly oppose. What happens the week before and after this Sagittarius New Moon can set the stage for the results of Election day. The Saturn-Uranus opposition shows that WILL is in conflict with REASON. Some of us would rather defy than change, while on the other extreme, others would rather CHANGE than be realistic. The goal is to create balanced, meaningful change based on real needs. We are likely to see a large split between those who want to hold on to the status quo and those who want change. Reform or conform is the question we may all need to ask ourselves in 2008. The challenge is to put facts before impulse. If you are clear within yourself, you can extend that to others. If you are filled with quickly changing impulses and uncertain about taking a chance, you can spread nervous energy, which can make it harder to feel free and peaceful within yourself.

The Quantum Grid
This is a time of dramatic, positive growth. It represents a major paradigm shift into a quantum world. With unified wave theory, we not only realize, we have scientific PROOF that we are all connected by energy grids, within our bodies, to each other, to planet Earth, and to the solar system and beyond. It’s what Stephen Hawking calls “the mind of God.” This is not dependent on how close you are. Just like we are living farther apart and connecting more easily, distance may not be as far as previously believed. I’m not a physicist (although I was a copyeditor for the American Institute of Physics), but there are many books and authors putting out ideas that prove that we are connected through our awareness. We CAN tune in and tune up.

More about Jupiter-Pluto: because it’s all about expansion
Jupiter conjuncts Pluto: December 11 @ 2:26 pm est
December has been billed (by astrologers I’ve read) as a culmination time. Yet, it is actually a time of new beginnings. All conjunctions are beginnings of new cycles. Like the New Moon, which happens when the Sun and Moon are in the same degree of the zodiac and starts a new cycle, the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction represents the beginning of a new cycle.

Jupiter is the storyteller of the zodiac. As Jupiter and Pluto conjunct, the underlying power of your stories can become obvious. What stories do you tell? Do you tell the truth, to yourself, to others? This conjunction can help you see how deeply those stories effect you as they color your beliefs and your potential.

The last time Jupiter and Pluto were conjunct on the Galactic Center (discovered in the 1960s) was in 1758. This Jupiter-Pluto conjunction is a major shift in perception. Our mass consciousness (represented by Pluto) is walking through a new doorway and will never be the same again. Yet, true to Pluto, this may not be the kind of growth or transformation that is immediately visible. Pluto hides, keeps secrets, and buries. Pluto composts, disintegrating what is used and transforming it into new life. Ultimately, Pluto is renewal; the phoenix rising from its ashes. But in true Jupiter style, this happens in the future. And meanwhile, whatever is being rebuilt may not be immediately obvious. This is a shift in belief systems and philosophy, and although it may be obvious to future-seekers, it may not manifest until Pluto, Jupiter, and the Sun enter Capricorn, the ultimate manifester. This promises to be a landmark Winter Solstice.

Historic and future tidbits
When Jupiter and Pluto made their last conjunction in 1758, the leaders of the coming revolutions in the US and France were being born, but the actual revolutions did not happen for another 18+ years. Major worldwide change was literally in its infancy. In 1758, neither Pluto nor the Galactic Center had been discovered, so this is the first Jupiter-Pluto conjunction ON the Galactic Center occurring WITH our awareness.

Each Jupiter-Pluto conjunction is in the subsequent sign. In recent history, there was a Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in late Leo in 1955-56. The next conjunction was in Virgo in 1968, then Libra in 1981, then Scorpio in 1994, now Sagittarius. The next Jupiter-Pluto conjunction is in Capricorn in 2020 and then Aquarius in 2045.

And because nothing is ever perfect or complete, there’s more (almost) daily on the ArtCharts AstroBlog

SECTION 2. Using Astrology for Your Greatest Benefit
The conjunction of Jupiter and Pluto at the Galactic Center, along with the New Moon in nature-loving Sagittarius and Mercury in Sagittarius is a wake-up call to take care of our planet. Jupiter and Sagittarius in the horoscope represent nature and the great outdoors, mountaintops, eagles, and places that inspire awe. Sagittarius reminds us that we need to preserve the great diversity of wildlife and foliage that is threatened with extinction and bring them back from the brink. Mercury reminds us that we need to speak and write about our environment so that we educate and inform ourselves and each other. Each of us has a role we can play. And when we find it and work together, we can be powerful (always the intention of Pluto).

The Green Report gives you a chart reading that relates your inner nature to how you can best work with “outer” nature to heal and protect planet Earth. What plants and animals do you resonate with? How can you apply your natural talents to help maintain and preserve nature in your environment?

The Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in Sagittarius gives hope for healing the environment. But we all need to do our part. If you have ideas for protecting a species, recycling, or avoiding disaster, it’s time to speak out. Joining with others (Pluto rules toxins and mass movements) could change the future direction of the planet. Even if you just start recycling now, you will have a positive impact on the planet.
